“I love to surprise them with something they don’t expect, a tune from their distant memory that they would never imagine in a funky house set”.
With a long history in sound, Howard started DJ-ing at fourteen as a mobile DJ for ten tears, overlapping with a move to BBC Radio for twelve years, presenting pop shows, writing comedy programmes and becoming a sound engineer. He’s had other jobs since then but music just won’t leave him alone. Moving back to his London birthplace the club scene almost taunted into learning how to mix and now he can’t put it down. “I’m not sure if music and entertaining is my passion or obsession”, he says.
Howard says above all it has to be fun. “While I have left that wedding DJ behind I still love to see people enjoying themselves whether that be lost in a dark and moody groove or screeching along to a huge vocal.”
Howard’s plays a blend of Funky, Club, Progressive and Electro House, always keeping an eye on the crowd, gaining their trust and leading them on a bit of journey through different genres.
Howard has played in bars and barns, in clubs and cow sheds and he says it’s all about entertaining whoever is there and that “no two gigs are ever the same, this music is for you”.
His latest move is to embrace Digital DJ-ing. Adding the computer has enabled him to make his sets even more interesting by adding vocals and loops and remixing tracks on the fly.
